Conscience/struggle: CELL NO. 101 – ZVIAD TSETSKHIADZE, DURING THE MANY YEARS, AM RANDE DER WELT

The third block, “Conscience/struggle,” features two early works by Austrian director Goran Rebić, who went to Georgia almost by chance thanks to his friendship with the actor Merab Ninidze, and encountered a country on the path to independence, shortly before, and then in the midst of, a civil war. DURING THE MANY YEARS (1991) and AM RANDE DER WELT (At the Edge of the World 1992) are documents of those early moments in the abyss, as sensitive and striking as they are painful.
